High School Diploma

Students and adults wishing to receive their high school diploma from Hemet Adult School must earn a total 190 credits. Credits are accumulated at a rate of 5 credits for every 50-60 hours of seat time. Credits from PE do not count towards your 190 credits. Credits are earned by completing all assignment(s) outlined in your credit check report, or as indicated on your concurrent contract form from a high school counselor. Students attending Hemet Adult School from one of Hemet’s comprehensive high schools must have their counselor’s and parent’s (if under 18) permission to attend. With the exception of Alessandro High students, all other concurrent high school students may not be on campus prior to 3:30 PM and will not receive the full hourly credit of they arrive past 3:40 PM. Once you have completed all your credits and hours, you will have to make an appointment with the school counselor to perform a grad check. Upon a successful review, you will be recommended for graduation and you should receive your diploma in 1-2 weeks. Every students earning their high school diploma in the state of California must take and pass both sections of the California High School Exit Exam or CAHSEE.
